Get Ready for Some Tax Relief
Governor Walker has signed our Blueprint for Prosperity tax relief plan into law! At a farm in Cecil, the signing ceremony marked the return of the majority of the $911.9 m budget surplus black to you! Starting next month, the average WI family of four will see about $57.90 more in their paycheck...we changed how much government took off the top of your pay. The average family can also count on $101 in property tax relief and a $58 income tax cut. So start budgeting for more of your own money in your pocket ...$681 this year of YOUR money that YOU can count on. Will you save it? Buy something? Add it to your grocery budget? That's the cool thing...YOU choose. Not people in Madison.
The Governor explains it all really well in this video. Share it with your friends and colleagues!
There were days in Wisconsin’s past when accomplishments like these were unheard of. But those days are over and under the Walker-Kleefisch Administration, we are working to ensure that the quality of life for your family and neighbors continues to improve.
National Ag Day
Agriculture is big business here in Wisconsin and our 16 technical colleges play an important role in educating the agricultural workforce of tomorrow. That’s why Governor Walker and I recognized National Ag Day at Southwest Technical College where we met with farmers and saw the equipment that students train with before joining the ranks of the more than 350,000 Wisconsinites who work in agriculture. Wisconsin sure does her part in feeding and supplying the world!
Smart Kids = Good for WI
I brought my girls, Ella and Violet, to UW-Milwaukee to check out the Badger State Science and Engineering Fair. We met young people who are going to be Wisconsin’s inventors and entrepreneurs. Our investment - of both time and support - in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) studies will help these young leaders boost our state in not only academic discoveries, but also in patents, business starts and global competitiveness. Hats off to these bright high school presenters and their tireless teachers whose passion fuels the future of STEM education!
